Green-Smoothie shot 2 (Mobile)

I’ve been constantly asked this question since SuperFoodies launched the ‘Green Smoothie Shot’ onto the market.

It should not be compared with a normal greens powder. Why?

Because it has a bonus feature the others don’t have. The Green Smoothie Shot ingredients have been naturally fermented: which increases its nutritional punch.

What does the fermentation process do?

The foods have been through a process of lacto fermentation in which natural bacteria feed on the sugar and starch in the food which creates lactic acid. This process preserves the food and creates beneficial enzymes, b-vitamins, Omega-3 fatty acids, and various strains of probiotics.

Why are probiotics the new buzz?

Probiotics are micro-organisms that help maintain the natural balance of bacteria in the intestines. The amount of probiotics and enzymes available in the average diet has declined sharply over the last few decades. Probiotics have been shown to help slow or reverse some diseases, improve bowel health, aid digestion, and improve immunity! Probiotics in the green smoothie formula are naturally occurring, they are not artificially added.

The Green Smoothie Shot improves digestion.

The green smoothie shot ingredients are broken down and pre-digested through the bacteria’s active enzymes. When consumed by humans the nutrients are more readily available for absorption and the biological value of the ingredients are often improved. This is particularly important as we age because digestion tends to deteriorate in our later years. The pH is altered by active Lactobacilli bacteria producing high levels of lactic acid. The presence of this and other acids inhibit the growth of undesirable bacteria, moulds, mould spores and yeast, particularly the Candida form.

Eating fermented food helps us to absorb the nutrients we’re consuming.

You can ingest huge amounts of nutrients but unless you actually absorb them they’re useless to you. When you improve digestion you improve absorption.

Fermented foods are rich in enzymes.

Your body needs enzymes to adequately digest, absorb, and utilize the nutrients in your food. As you age your body’s natural supply of enzymes goes down. The green smoothie shot has an abundance of naturally occurring enzymes produced by the fermentation process.

Fermenting food actually increases the vitamin content.

Not only are fermented foods more easily digested and assimilated but the bacteria produce and, therefore, significantly increase your levels of B vitamins.

What does it taste like?

The green smoothie shot is extremely palatable as it has no strong odour or taste. Personally, I take it just mixed with water. It can also be easily sprinkled on your cereal or added to your smoothie.

Why did you choose these ingredients for your blend?

All the ingredients were chosen firstly because they are all organic, gluten, dairy and soy free. All the green grasses have an impressive nutritional profile standing alone but when fermented their potency is increased and more bio-available. Spirulina is one of the world’s wonder foods and in a fermented blend it is extremely palatable. Did you know that spirulina has a phenomenally high protein content as well as the vital nutrients it offers? Beetroot is my favorite detoxifier so it had to be in there. The grains and sweeteners are necessary for the fermentation process.

What can I expect to experience?

Most consumers feel more comfortable even on the first day. However with time as your digestive system becomes more efficient, apart from the researched health benefits, you may notice less belly bloating or inflammation, a reduction in wind associated with poor digestion, better elimination, more energy and better sleep. It can aid weight loss. Personally, I definitely feel more comfortable in the belly and have less belly inflammation.
