Superfoodies Organic Acai Berry Powder has only 1g of sugar per 100g, giving Acai one of the lowest glycaemic loads of any fruit. This unique feature of the Acai berry make it ideal for those on a low sugar diet.
Acai was the forerunner in superfoods and is still revered for its high levels of antioxidant anthocyanin, believed to help cellular protection and lower cholesterol. Anthocyanins have recently been identified to have a positive cellular anti-inflammatory action, and for this reason are thought to have some far reaching health benefits in the prevention of some diseases.
Acai also contains high levels of Vit E and Omega 9 known to support smooth healthy skin. Because of the demand for this popular Superfood the açaí trees are being protected in the Amazon, rather than being a casualty of deforestation.
